Gellco Outdoors is looking for a motivated, customer-focused Part-Time Float Sales Associate to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, learning about outdoor products, and being able to jump in wherever the store needs help.
As a Float Sales Associate, you will work across multiple departments, including Archery, Fishing, Clothing, Footwear, and Firearms. You will help customers find the products that best fit their needs while providing a friendly, knowledgeable, and professional shopping experience.
The Float Sales Associate will be expected to move between departments throughout the day based on customer traffic and store needs. This position requires someone who is adaptable, willing to learn, and comfortable handling a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced retail environment.
You don't have to be an expert in every department on day one. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn our products and develop the knowledge necessary to confidently assist customers.
Greet customers and provide friendly, knowledgeable service
Assist customers throughout the store and determine their needs
Help customers select products that best fit their intended use, preferences, and budget
Work across multiple departments, including:
Archery
Fishing
Clothing
Footwear
Firearms
Learn product features, benefits, and proper uses across different departments
Assist with sizing and fitting for clothing and footwear
Assist customers with archery and fishing products
Follow all store policies and procedures when working in the firearms department
Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked sales areas
Assist with stocking, merchandising, inventory, and receiving as needed
Effectively multi-task while assisting customers and completing other store responsibilities
Move between departments as customer traffic and store needs require
Work with other team members to provide excellent customer service
Stay productive and self-motivated during both busy and slower periods
Strong customer service and communication skills
Self-motivated, dependable, and willing to take initiative
Ability to work well in a fast-paced retail environment
Comfortable multi-tasking and switching between departments
Willingness to learn about a wide variety of outdoor products
Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable interacting with customers
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow store policies and procedures
Retail experience is a plus, but not required
Experience or interest in archery, fishing, hunting, outdoor recreation, clothing, footwear, or firearms is a plus
The ideal candidate is someone who doesn't wait to be told what needs to be done. You should be comfortable jumping in to help customers, keeping yourself busy, learning new products, and moving wherever you're needed.
You don't need to know everything about every department. A willingness to learn, a good attitude, and a strong work ethic are more important than having extensive product knowledge.
